Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 28, 2026

This policy explains what DB Consulting & Training Inc. (“Dorothy Botsoe”, “we”, “us”) collects when you visit this website, how that information is used, and the choices you have. It is written in plain language on purpose — if anything here is unclear, email us and we will explain it.

What we collect

We only ask for what we genuinely need to reply to you or to prepare for an event. There are two ways information reaches us:

Messages you send us
When you use the contact form we receive your name, email address, subject, and message. When you use the booking form we also receive your phone number, organization, the type of engagement you're exploring, the event date, location, audience size, an optional budget range, and any details you share about your event or audience.
Basic visit information
Like most websites, we keep a simple count of which pages and sections people read, which site sent you here (for example a search engine or a social post), whether you arrived on a phone or a computer, and roughly when the visit happened. This is stored as a small count, not as a profile about you.

You are never required to give us anything. Optional fields can be left blank, though a little context (like your organization or the event date) helps us give you a useful answer the first time.

How we use it

Information is used for practical, limited purposes:

To answer you
We read your message and reply, usually within a few business days.
To plan engagements
We use your event details to check availability, prepare materials, and confirm travel and scheduling.
To improve the site
Visit counts tell us which talks, books, and pages people actually read, so we know what to write more of.

We do not sell your information, rent it, or pass it to advertising networks. Your details are not used to build an advertising profile about you.

Cookies and browser storage

This site does not place advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies on your device. The only thing stored in your browser is a short-lived session label that lets us count one visit once rather than once per page. It disappears when you close the tab.

Visits that come from our own preview or editing tools are recorded simply as “Direct”, so our internal testing never shows up as real traffic.

Embedded players and outside links

Some pages include a podcast player and a video that are served by their own platforms. When you press play, that platform receives standard technical details such as your internet address. Those services have their own privacy practices, which this policy does not cover.

Our footer links to LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube. Clicking one takes you to that company, where its own policy applies from that moment.

How long we keep things

Messages and booking requests are kept while they remain useful — to answer you, to honor a confirmed engagement, and to keep accurate business records. Visit counts are kept for up to twelve months and then removed.

If you ask us to delete your details, we remove them from active records, except where we must keep a copy for legitimate business or legal reasons.

Who sees it

Only the people who need it, to do the job. Dorothy and her small team handle inquiries directly. We also use trusted providers to host the site, store the database, and run the dashboard; they process information on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own marketing.

The calendar inside Dorothy's dashboard can be linked to her own Google Calendar so her schedule stays in one place. That connection covers her calendar only — it is never used to read a visitor's information.

We may disclose information when we are required to by law, or to protect the rights and safety of the site and its users.

How we protect it

Access to messages, booking requests, and analytics is limited to authorized accounts with a private sign-in. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we hold.

No method of sending or storing data online is perfectly secure, so we ask that you avoid sending anything unusually sensitive (such as financial account numbers or health information) through the website forms.

Your choices

You can ask us at any time to:

Show you what we hold
We'll send you a copy of the messages or details we have that relate to you.
Correct it
If something is wrong or out of date, tell us and we'll fix it.
Delete it
Ask and we'll remove your information from our active records.
Stop contacting you
Say the word and we'll take you off our follow-up list.

Email dorothy@dbconsultingandtraining.com and we'll respond within 30 days. The site is written for professionals and organizations; we do not knowingly collect information from children.

If this policy changes

We may update this page as the site grows. Any changes are posted here with a new “Last updated” date at the top, so checking back is always enough.
